We Return Home With Champion and First Runner Up Titles

The Özyeğin University Chess Team participated in the “2020-2021 Intercollegiate Public Chess Championship” organized online from June 3 through June 4, 2021 by the Turkish University Sports Federation. The OzU Women’s Chess Team won the Turkish championship, while the OzU Men’s Chess Team claimed the first runner-up title. After the championship, Ms. Sinem Çağla Gündoğan, OzU Women’s Chess Team Captain and sophomore Law student, was invited to the “ Turkish Women’s Individual Chess Championship” in Çorum, from June 11 through June 19, 2021 by the Turkish Chess Federation. Previously, our students also took home the champion title from the “Online Chess Tournament” held in April with over 1,000 university students from 49 universities. We would like to congratulate all our students and wish them continued success.
