Özyeğin University Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department Accepted as an IFI Educational Member
The Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Faculty of Architecture and Design at Özyeğin University, has been accepted as an educational member by the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI) as of 2025. This membership aims to closely follow international developments in interior architecture/interdisciplinary design and take an active role in global knowledge sharing.
As the foremost international body representing the interior architecture/design profession, IFI brings together educational institutions, professional organizations, professional practitioners, and supporting organizations worldwide, aiming to enhance the discipline's social impact, cultural responsibility, and professional visibility.
With the IFI educational membership, the international recognition of Özyeğin University's Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department has been enhanced. Strategic gains have been achieved in areas such as global collaborations, access to professional standards, and sustainability in quality education. Within the scope of this membership, the university and the program gain visibility on international professional platforms; the program's compliance with international equivalency criteria is documented; and a stronger global impact can be created through the use of the IFI brand in academic events to be organized. Furthermore, access to resources, publications, academic networks, and events offered by IFI is expected to broaden the international interaction opportunities for students and academic staff, while contemporary educational approaches gain a multifaceted dimension.
Today, IFI is one of the most comprehensive international federations in the field of interior architecture. Through declarations, research-oriented projects, and thematic events that contribute to the development of the interior architecture discipline, the organization aims to address the impact of design on individuals' quality of life and health within a disciplinary framework. Özyeğin University's integration into this structure provides strategic outreach to the department by offering access to international knowledge networks in interior architecture education, research, and practice.
