Civil Engineering Ph.D. Student Araz Salimnezhad Performed at the Finals of the 24th Roxy Müzik Günleri

Araz Salimnezhad, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Civil Engineering at our university, took the stage at the 24th Roxy Music Days competition with his band Karaburan, which he founded together with his brother Faraz Salimnezhad.

With original songs written and composed by Araz (vocals – rhythm guitar) and Faraz (lead guitar), titled “Sakin Sular,” “Kanatsız Uçak,” and “Işık Seli,” the band Karaburan qualified as one of the 12 finalists in this year’s competition, held between May 13–16. The finalists were selected from among 262 bands and over 500 songs. This is the very first time in the history of RMG that international musicians have written, arranged, and performed original songs in Turkish that reached the finals of this competition.
